The Summit Challenge

Climb the height of famous peaks by climbing laps on the North Shore Wall. Show your accomplishment with a t-shirt when you finish. Your final goal is 32 laps, the height of Devil's Tower. Inquire with the climbing staff.

Late Night Cosmic Bouldering

Spend a relaxing late night bouldering and watching videos. Everyone is welcome.
Every other Wednesday beginning January 25, ending May 2, 8-10pm
Meet: Inland Wall
Cost: FREE!

Women on the Wall

Calling all women, womyn, and female- identifying persons! Come join us down in the Inland Wall, inside the ice rink, for some women only climbing! Beginners are always welcome. Make sure to tell all your friends! All equipment and female instructors are provided.
Every other Friday, beginning February 3, ending May 4, 5-7pm

Icy Thursdays

Ice quality permitting, join us every Thursday for an evening of ice climbing above Chester Creek.
Beginning January 26 until February 23rd, we will be gearing up for quick trip to the creek. All equipment is provided and beginners are welcome.
Thursdays beginning January 26 ending February 23, 3:30-6:30pm

Ice and Mixed Climbing at Casket Quarry

Mixed climbing combines both ice and rock climbing techniques. Try it out and see why its popularity is growing around the world.

Ice Climbing at Gooseberry Falls State Park

Try ice climbing at this beautiful and friendly North Shore environment. We'll learn about techniques and equipment to work your way up a frozen waterfall amid the stunning winter scenery of Gooseberry Falls State Park. Beginners welcome! No experience required. All equipment is provided.

Learn to Sport Lead Climb

Take your indoor climbing to a new level with lead climbing. Learn how to climb from the ground up, trailing a rope and to clip anchors as you go. Practice techniques for tying in, clipping quickdraws, falling safely and belaying a lead climber. Thursday, March 1, 6:30-9:30pm Thursday, April 12, 6:30-9:30pm

Traditional Lead Clmbing Clinic

Traditional lead climbers climb outdoors and use equipment like stoppers and cams to place anchors in the rock as they climb up a route. Learn techniques for getting started, placing anchors, route strategies and belaying a leader.

Practice techniques for building anchors at the top of an outdoor climb, bringing up the second and making the transition at the belay ledge.

PCIA Climbing Wall Instructor Cerification

The Professional Climbing Instructors Association is dedicated to skills training and promoting professionalism in climbing instructors. This nationally recognized course emphasizes best practices for instructors in technical expertise and in teaching skills.

Slack Line Thursday

It's the rest day activity of climbers around the globe; balancing on a tightly-stretched length of webbing. Come and learn the basics of slack line rigging and walking skills. Join us for the fun!

Concrete Smorgasbord Climbing Comp

Join the North Shore Climbers for a day of climbing excitement and fabulous door prizes at the 19th Annual Concrete Smorgasbord climbing competition. Try your hand at all-new bouldering and roped routes and compete against climbers of all abilities.

Climbing Outdoors at Ely's Peak

Ely's Peak is a rock climbing area just 20 minutes from campus. It's famous for its awesome climbing and spectacular views of the St. Louis River valley. Climb with us in a relaxing and supportive atmosphere. Bring a snack and water bottle and join the fun. No experience is needed.

Top Rope Anchors I-Placing Protection 203039

Learn the basics of top roping set-ups. Practice building and evaluation of quality, solid top rope anchors. This session focuses on placing and evaluating rock protection and is a great beginner to intermediate class.
