MinnAqua Ice Fishing Workshop
Have you ever wanted to know the howís and whyís of ice fishing?
Well, hereís your chance! Spend the morning at Great
Lakes Aquarium learning the howís and whyís of ice fishing
while receiving training on how to lead MinnAquaís angling
education programs. Youíll get to make your own jiggle stick,
which you can use when we go ice fishing when we hit the ice
in the afternoon to try angling for fish. A copy of MinnAquaís
Leaders Guide will be given to all participants. Co-Sponsored
by the Minnesota D.N.R., MinnAqua and Great Lakes Aquarium.

Birch Bark Crafts
Birch bark has been used as a valuable material in North
America to create items such as baskets, canoes, and musical
instruments. Learn about birch trees and make crafts from its
durable bark. You will cut, weave, and glue hand collected birch
bark into a woven birch bark star and a traditional Ojibwa style
birch bark basket.

Super Duper Way Beginner Snowboard Clinic
Itís just like surfing except on the snow! Snowboarding is a
growing sport that is now internationally recognized. Most
people learn how from their friends, but why not learn from
someone who knows how to teach! Spirit Mountain provides
college students with a good deal on rental and we provide you
with your own lesson with a certified snowboard instructor who
teaches for a living. By the end of the lesson, you will be ready
to tackle the green runs using your own snowboard style.

Intro to Scuba Diving and Slideshow of Lake Superior Shipwrecks
Ever wonder what lies beneath the glassy surface of Lake
Superior? Or how to get started in the sport of scuba diving?
If so, this program is for you. Join us with local scuba instructor
and master diver, Joe Cheetam from Lake Superior Diver
for a classroom demonstration of scuba gear, the basics, how
to get certified, and what you can see underwater. Plus enjoy
an amazing slideshow of shipwrecks and other treasures in the
depths of the Great Lakes.

Crocheting 101
Come learn the basics of crocheting in part one of a two part
series. We will learn how to do a basic stitch and get you well
on your way to making your own fashionable outerwear. In this
class we will teach you about yarn widths, yarn types, different
types of crocheting needles, pattern reading, and how to make
your very own scarf to keep you warm in Duluth.

Running Form and Injury Prevention
Dr. Adam Sundberg, local chiropractor specializing in treating
athletes, will introduce you to proper running form and
injury prevention. Dr. Sundberg will cover the different aspects
of a runnerís gait and provide tips to increase efficiency and
speed. He will also review exercises designed to facilitate proper
muscle balance with the goal of avoiding training injuries.

Wire Wrapping
Have you ever wanted to make your own jewelry? Does working
with wire and beads interest you? If so, come join us for
an evening of wire wrapping. No knowledge needed, we will go
over everything you need to know to get started. Expect to have
fun an lean new skills.

Gear Owies
Youíre out on a weekend trip and your rain pants rip or youíre
sitting too close to a campfire and a spark falls on your
sleeping bag. These are common outdoor gear owies that donít
need advanced medical care. You can repair them out on the
trail and have them still be functional in their repair. Come to
this evening clinic to learn first hand how to troubleshoot gear
repairs while on the trail.

Spring Bike Maintenance Clinic
Springtime! Sweet, warm weather, and biking! Come get some
tips and hands-on training on how to whip your bike back into
shape. We will learn some basic maintenance such as adjusting
brakes and derailleurs as well as a few other things that make
your bike tick.

Earth Day Color and Cloth
We like to support our Mother and what better way to do that
than to go green! Make your own reusable grocery/shopping
bag so that all those plastic ones donít get thrown away. We
will teach you how to create your own grocery bag by sewing it
together and you can make it your own creation by using some
organic dyes to spice it up. Mother Nature is creative and you
can be too!
